Slip into Thursday with Me
Yes its 2021 but just like some great philosopher probably once said, “why live in the moment when you could live in tomorrow?” So lets get down to the 2022 draft.
While we can’t really know how the draft is going to go we can do some skilled predicting, and that’s what the folks of the sports world have already started to do. And right now its not looking too good, or is looking good depending on how you see it, for the Jacksonville Jaguars. These tired kitties on their for 19th straight loss, which is bound to get anyone down, and while they had their golden boy Trevor Lawrence to give a glimmer of hope, that glimmer is starting to simmer fizzle and pucker out.
So instead of getting bummed out about the Jags, lets get really bummed out on who might be out or might be doing some major transitioning in the coming year.
1. AJ Cann might be out, and not just out, but this veteran might just retire. AJ came as a third round draft pick in 2015, and has been with the Jaguars ever since. While his commitment to his team is admirable, and there exists a certain loyalty between the two, AJ has a history of two major tricep injuries, which might just make him call it quits this time around.
2. Jihad Ward is another player that might be out due to injury, but also just kind of due to overall performance. Ward was drafted as a second round pick in the 2016 draft, 64th overall to the Raiders. Later he was traded to the Cowboys, Ravens, Colts, then finally, the Jaguars. Throughout his career it’s been somewhat of a lackluster performance, probably only worsened by the knee injury her sustained his first year in the professional league. Overall Jihad Ward has had 104 tackles, 5 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries, and 3 pass defends.
3. Tyler Shatley came to the league in 2014 as undrafted free agent to the Jaguars. Shatley has had a totally commendable career and will likely be re-signed in the coming year. Shatley did have a season ending injury in 2018, but with the time off came back stronger than ever.
4. Josh Lambo, a kicker for the Jacksonville Jaguars came to the league as a free agent for the Chargers. Lambo has had a fun career to watch, and I predict it’ll likely continue as he just came out with a major 59 yard field goal. Did he re-injure a past groin injury? Yes. Do I think he’ll be fine? Also yes.
Regardless of what happens for the boys and the Jags in general, it’s not my call to say if someone has had a “good” career or not, because in reality they’ve all done much more than I ever had an could crush me in one flick.
